Interested in anything related to fashion, wearables, technology and everything else in between?
This course will explore the intersection between these areas. You will learn about the design process between this intersection before jump into the world of wearable technology. You will uncover how to combine hands-on techniques for crafting and design with computer-aided tools, electronics, and even Arduino programming. What you will end up making using your new skills will be personal, unique and probably pretty cool!
And since we’re all about fashion-tech, you’ll even get to show off your projects on a mini-runway with a theme related to Oceans!
Fashion is a brilliant way to tell a story, and this year, we’re focusing on the ocean. Why?
Well, we’re partnering with a Canada wide initiative this year on ocean engagement. If you didn’t already know, Canada borders 3 separate oceans. There’s a lot of important issues that need to be highlighted, such as the health of the ocean, challenges communities face that live near it, as well its wildlife.
To help raise awareness, we’re going to focus on creating wearables that tell stories about the ocean. You’ll even get to participate in a special event in September (more details coming soon!)
So what will your ocean story be?
